There are several hair removal methods that people use to remove unwanted hair. All of the methods available fall into one of the following three categories: temporary hair removal, permanent hair reduction, and permanent hair removal.

Temporary Hair Removal Methods: Temporary hair removal provides results that typically last between several hours to several days.

Permanent Hair Reduction Methods*: Permanent hair reduction delivers permanent hair removal for a particular percentage of hair in the target area. Some people might consider the techniques listed in this category ”permanent” but they do not currently have FDA approval for “permanent hair removal”.

Permanent Hair Removal*Permanent hair removal is considered the only FDA approved method to permanently remove hair

*It is important to mention that permanent hair removal or permanent hair reduction refers to the permanent removal or reduction of hair that is present during the treatment. These methods do not prevent new hair growth due to hormonal issues or other related new hair growth triggers.
